Hi, my name is Kara. I'm kind of a nerd. But I like to think that that's a good thing. Anywho, welcome to my thoughts.

It's upfronts season...

So it's that time of year again, when the TV networks decide which shows get to stay on the air, which ones are dead, and which new shows get to actually happen.

So, what's going down so far? I'll go by channel, in order of their upfronts...

NBC:
Ending:
Both Mercy (a show about angsty nurses) and Trauma (a, if you ask me, far superior show about angsty paramedics) failed to make the cut. So much for filling the medical show vacuum left by ER ending last year. Speaking of shows that have been on forever, Law and Order is officially ending. Except there's going to be a new show, Law and Order: Los Angeles. So not too big of a deal, especially since I've never really watched any of the Law and Orders. Slightly bigger news in my world, is that, after 3 kind of crappy seasons (I liked season one), NBC finally cancelled Heroes.
Staying:
All those super-successful comedies. Bunch of shows I don't watch.
New:
NBC Has a huge list. Which ones might I watch? Well, JJ Abrams has a new spy show, Undercovers, which looks kind of good. There's also a conspiracy thriller called The Event that looks mildly interesting. Then there's a couple of cop shows, a couple of lawyer shows... could be something good there.

FOX
Cancelled:
Dollhouse. I'd kinda lost interest, even though I'm a huge Buffy/Angel and Firefly fan. Then also a bunch of shows I've never heard of.
Renewed
Pretty much all the Fox shows people actually watch. The only one I really care about is Glee, and there was no way they were getting rid of like everyone's favorite show.
Picked up:
A couple of comedies.
Not picked up:
David Krumholtz had a comedy pilot for Fox, which apparently didn't make the cut. He should stick to dramas. And yes, by dramas I mean I'm hoping for Numb3rs: Oxford. BBC, are you listening?

ABC:
Done:
Well we already knew Lost was in it's final season. Scrubs might not have gone into this season with the intention to end, with it's reboot-minus-the-main-character thing, but it's no big surprise that it's cancelled. I'm a little disappointed that Flashforward got cancelled, but that's mostly because of some of the actors in it, specifically a couple from Lost.
Not Done:
We get a 3rd season of Castle! Yay! That was actually announced a while ago, but I'm happy about it. Speaking of shows with old Firefly characters, V got picked up for season 2. I would be happy about that if it hadn't been an either or situation with Flashforward.
Starting:
No Ordinary Family is an ordinary-people-get-superpowers show that might be interesting. And ABC picked up The Whole Truth, in which Rob Morrow is a defense attorney with more stubble than we ever saw on him on Numb3rs. Besides that, there's a couple of cop shows and a couple of sitcoms I may or may not care about.

CBS: (Upfronts are tomorrow, but they've already announced what shows they're keeping)
Finshed:
Cold Case, which I never watched. Miami Medical, which is now in Numb3rs's spot, which I watch then feel bad about. Oh and something else... oh yeah, my show. Numb3rs is officially dead. Depression.
Continuing:
Most of the crime dramas, and most of the comedies.
Beginning:
Couple of cop shows, including a remake of Hawaii Five-0 which I might watch because it has Daniel Dae Kim. Other than that, nothing too interesting.

So: Next year, I'm going to have to find some new shows to watch. Hopefully some of the new ones will be good. And I think that there needs to be a Numb3rs spinoff about Charlie and Amita in England.
